FULL GYM FOUNDATION PROGRAM


Designed for athletes familiar with the gym but new to MTNTOUGH's unique functional training, this 8-week program lays the groundwork for Backcountry Hunter and other MTNTOUGH gym programs. It delivers 4-day-per-week circuit-style sessions—two strength and two conditioning days—to master fundamental movements, building strength, mobility, and endurance for rugged terrain. Follow head coach Sarah Maschino via video demonstrations and supporting PDFs, with progressive overload every two weeks to ensure steady gains.

FORMAT: Self-guided workouts overview and form videos with supporting printable PDFs.

DURATION: Eight-week program with four workouts per week (two strength, two conditioning).

WORKOUT LENGTHS: 45-60 minutes, including warmups, 3-5 exercise circuits, and cool downs.

GEAR: Full gym setup—barbells, squat rack, dumbbells, bench, kettlebells, TRX strap, stability ball, treadmill, assault bike, or rower (home or fitness facility).
